Submitting a product for review

wave

We review software and hardware, and we take submissions from the companies that make them. Here is exactly how that works, so you can decide before you write.

Software

Send an account on the tier you actually want reviewed, for at least a month. Include login instructions and anything a new user would need to get past setup. We use it on real work rather than a demo dataset, which is where most tools either earn the price or do not.

Hardware

Tell us what it is and we will reply with a shipping address. We test in normal daily use, not on a bench, and we say how long we had it. If you want the unit back, say so and we will return it.

What you get

A review written for someone about to spend their own money. We publish whichever way it goes, we do not send drafts for approval, and we do not sell coverage or placement. Every piece states how we got the product, so a reader can weigh it themselves. That disclosure is what makes a good review of yours worth something.

What we cannot do

No guaranteed publication date, no pre-agreed score, and no review under an agreement that lets you edit it. If a product does not survive a fair test, that is what the piece says.

Corrections are welcome

If a piece has something wrong in it, say which piece and what is wrong. Corrections get made in the article, with a note saying what changed.

Readers: requests count for a lot

The queue is shaped by what people ask about. Telling us what you were about to buy is genuinely useful, even if we never write back.
