Is the Foldable Phone Trend Dying or Just Starting?

The short version is at the bottom. The reason for it is everything in between.

What separates a good product from a merely impressive one is what it does on an ordinary Tuesday, three months in, when you are tired and you just want the thing to work.

Filed under Mobile, which on this site means we care about the boring parts: whether it holds a connection, whether the app is still maintained a year from now, and whether anybody answers the phone when it breaks. The question is never whether a thing works in the shop. It is whether it still works in six months, on your network, alongside your other devices, without you having to think about it.

If you want the short version: it depends, and the thing it depends on is probably not what you expected.

Counterpoint: I have had zero problems with mine in a year. Might just be a bad batch.

Did you test it on mesh wifi? Mine drops every few days and support keeps telling me it is my router.

Returned mine inside the window. Nothing wrong with it, it just was not worth what they are asking.

Thank you for saying the price out loud. Half the reviews of this thing never mention what it costs.

Would love a follow-up in six months. That is usually when these start showing their real character.
